Greetings and blessings, beloved family!
“Jesus Christ, you are the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead; you have loved us and freed us from our sins by your Blood.” Alleluia! Welcome to the first day of June! As we cross the threshold into this brand-new month, the Church invites us to align our minds and hearts with the source of all absolute truth through two monumental witnesses: Saint Justin and Saint Pamphilus. These holy men remind us that a new season demands an unshakeable foundation. Whether it was Saint Justin, a brilliant pagan philosopher who realized that worldly philosophies were empty and boldly declared to his executioners that “no right-minded man forsakes truth for falsehood,” or Saint Pamphilus, a wealthy priest who spent his life transcribing Sacred Scripture and willingly endured two years of brutal imprisonment before his beheading, they showed that true knowledge always leads to sacrificial love and absolute fidelity. In today’s Gospel (Mark 12:1–12), we witness the dangerous consequence of letting pride and entitlement corrupt our hearts. Through the Parable of the Wicked Tenants, Jesus exposes the religious leaders who treated God’s vineyard as their exclusive personal property. Instead of yielding the spiritual fruits of justice and mercy, they aggressively abused and killed the owner’s servants, eventually murdering the Beloved Son in a desperate attempt to seize the inheritance for themselves. But Christ delivers an unyielding truth: human rejection cannot derail divine purpose. The very stone discarded by the builders is elevated by the Father to become the sovereign, unshakeable Cornerstone of our salvation. This tragedy of entitlement is exactly what the First Reading (2 Peter 1:2–7) teaches us to avoid. Saint Peter reminds us that God’s divine power has already given us everything we need to live a life of true devotion. He provides us with a clear spiritual checklist to actively build up our interior life this month, instructing us to supplement our foundational faith with moral virtue, knowledge, self-control, endurance, and love. When we aggressively pursue this path, we escape the corruption of the world and find ourselves dwelling securely within the fortress described in today’s Responsorial Psalm, declaring with confidence: “In you, my God, I place my trust.”
As we bid farewell to the past month and step joyfully into the month of June, we take a moment to offer our deep gratitude to God for His unswerving faithfulness and constant protection. A new month is a clean slate, a fresh opportunity to grow deeper in faith, manifest new virtues, and witness God’s hand at work in our daily lives. We consciously place this month into the hands of the Holy Spirit, trusting that He has already gone ahead of us to prepare a path of peace, breakthrough, and divine favor for us and our families.
As we step into June, the Owner of the vineyard is looking for a harvest of spiritual fruit in your life. Are you managing your time, relationships, and talents with the gratitude of a faithful steward, or are you acting like an entitled tenant hoarding God’s blessings and ignoring His voice? Are you actively building your daily choices on Christ, your Cornerstone, or are you letting worldly desires crowd Him out?

Gospel Reading ~ Mark 12:1–12
“The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes.”
Jesus began to speak to the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and left on a journey. At the proper time he sent a servant to the tenants to obtain from them some of the produce of the vineyard. But they seized him, beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. Again he sent them another servant. And that one they beat over the head and treated shamefully. He sent yet another whom they killed. So, too, many others; some they beat, others they killed. He had one other to send, a beloved son. He sent him to them last of all, thinking, ‘They will respect my son.’ But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ So they seized him and killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come, put the tenants to death, and give the vineyard to others. Have you not read this Scripture passage: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; by the Lord has this been done, and it is wonderful in our eyes?” They were seeking to arrest him, but they feared the crowd, for they realized that he had addressed the parable to them. So they left him and went away.
SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS
In the Gospel, Christ delivers a devastating prophetic parable that unmasks the entitlement, greed, and violent rebellion of human leadership against divine ownership. This reflection centers on The Rebellion of the Tenants and the Triumph of the Cornerstone. Through the imagery of the vineyard, Jesus sketches out God’s meticulous cultivation of Israel and the ongoing hostility of its religious authorities. Entrusted with a fully equipped estate, the tenant farmers mistake stewardship for absolute ownership, systematically abusing, beating, and murdering the messengers sent to collect the owner’s rightful produce. When the owner sends his ultimate emissary, his beloved son, the tenants calculate that killing the heir will guarantee their complete possession of the inheritance. By linking their impending rejection of Him to the messianic fulfillment of Psalm 118, Jesus reveals that human hostility cannot derail God’s design; the very stone discarded by the builders will be elevated by divine power into the sovereign cornerstone of a new covenant.
The First Reading provides an essential spiritual ladder to prevent this type of interior decay and infidelity, presenting The Architecture of Virtue and Partakers of the Divine Nature. Writing with pastoral urgency, Saint Peter reminds us that God’s divine power has already bestowed upon us absolutely everything necessary for life and true devotion. Through an intimate knowledge of Christ, we are given precious and magnificent promises designed to help us escape worldly corruption and actively share in the divine nature. To preserve this supernatural gift, Peter instructs believers to apply maximum effort in constructing a rigorous spiritual chain: supplementing foundational faith with moral virtue, virtue with knowledge, knowledge with vigilant self-control, self-control with patient endurance, endurance with authentic devotion, devotion with mutual affection, and affection with sacrificial love.
The Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 91) functions as the ultimate declaration of safety for those who choose a life of total surrender over the aggressive entitlement of the world, singing: “In you, my God, I place my trust.” It promises that those who intentionally dwell within the secret shelter of the Most High will find an unshakeable fortress in the LORD. Because the faithful soul clings directly to God and acknowledges His holy name, the Father promises a personal delivery out of distress, a long life of deep spiritual satisfaction, and a vivid revelation of His ultimate salvation.
As we step into a brand new week and a new month, let us audit the reality of our personal stewardship before God. Reflect today: Are there areas in your life, talent, time, or finances where you are acting like an entitled tenant—treating God’s gifts as your exclusive property and rejecting His quiet promptings to yield spiritual fruit? How intentionally are you working to “supplement your faith” with virtue, self-control, and endurance, or have you allowed your spiritual life to become passive and stagnant? Are you resting securely in the shelter of the Most High, trusting that He will answer you in moments of distress?
Let us pray: Lord Jesus Christ, the ultimate Cornerstone of our faith, we acknowledge You today as the true Owner of our lives and everything we possess. Forgive us for the times we have acted with entitlement, hoarded Your gifts, or ignored the promptings of Your Holy Spirit. Give us the grace and discipline to aggressively build up our interior lives, supplementing our faith with the virtues of purity, knowledge, self-control, and love. We make You the absolute foundation of our families, our projects, and our futures. Shield us within Your divine shelter, deliver us from worldly corruption, and grant that we may bear rich, lasting fruit for Your kingdom. You who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. 🙏🏽

SAINT JUSTIN, MARTYR: Saint Justin (100–165 A.D.), nicknamed “the Philosopher,” was a brilliant pagan-born Samaritan scholar, master Christian apologist, and fearless martyr who dedicated his immense intellectual gifts to defending the Gospel. Spending his youth investigating every major school of worldly philosophy in a desperate search for absolute truth, he found nothing but deceitful errors until the profound witness of the early martyrs and an encounter with a venerable Syrian Christian led to his conversion. Recognizing Sacred Scripture as the only true philosophy, Justin aggressively deployed his rhetorical skills to write the Church’s first Apologies, addressing them directly to persecuting Roman emperors to prove that Christians were model citizens who should not be mistreated. His historic texts provide our earliest, most valuable historical descriptions of the primitive Roman liturgy, explicitly affirming the real presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist. While running his own school in Rome, he outshone a rival Cynic philosopher in a public debate, leading to his arrest; when ordered to sacrifice to false idols, he boldly declared that no right-minded man forsakes truth for falsehood before being beheaded alongside six of his loyal students.
PRAYER: O God, in a wonderful manner You taught Saint Justin the Martyr the lofty science of Jesus Christ manifested in the glorious folly of the Cross. Through his powerful intercession, grant that we may never fall into modern cultural errors or compromise our convictions, but instead remain completely firm in the true Faith, always ready to give a reason for the hope within us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏽
SAINT PAMPHILUS, PRIEST AND MARTYR: Saint Pamphilus (c. 250–309 A.D.) was an extraordinarily wealthy scholar, meticulous biblical editor, and devoted priest who transformed the city of Caesarea into an epic epicenter of sacred literature and Christian charity. Born to an honorable Phoenician family, he mastered all branches of contemporary sciences before abandoning worldly ambitions to apply himself exclusively to the study of the doctrine of salvation. At his own immense personal expense, Pamphilus collected a legendary public library of thirty thousand volumes, established a renowned school of sacred literature, and spent countless nights transcribing a flawless, corrected edition of the Holy Bible with his own hands. Driven by profound humility, he distributed his entire paternal inheritance to the poor and treated his servants as brothers, an austere life that served as an apprenticeship for the grace of martyrdom. When the fierce Maximian persecution broke out, he was arrested by a cruel governor and subjected to horrific torture with iron hooks; remaining completely unshakeable in his holy convictions, he endured two years in a half-dead state in prison before being sentenced to death and beheaded alongside nine other heroic companions.
PRAYER: Hear us, O God our Savior, as we honor the profound humility and scholarly zeal of Your holy priest and martyr, Saint Pamphilus. Inspire us by his beautiful example to fall deeply in love with Your Sacred Scripture, using our everyday resources to become channels of concrete comfort for the poor and unyielding witnesses to Your timeless truth. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏽
Our Blessed Mother Mary, Saint Justin, and Saint Pamphilus — pray for us. 🙏🏽

PRAYER INTENTION: FOR THE EXPANSION OF TRUTH, SACRED KNOWLEDGE, AND AN UNYIELDING FAITH
On this first day of June, we lift our voices to You, Lord Jesus, the Faithful Witness and the ultimate Cornerstone of our lives. We stand in deep adoration before You, recognizing that Your divine power has already bestowed upon us everything we need for life and devotion. We offer our thanksgiving for the blessing of this new month; Father, we step across the threshold of June with hearts full of praise, completely surrendering this month into Your hands. We thank You for bringing us safely into this fresh season. We lay all our upcoming projects, family decisions, and daily needs at Your feet, asking that You direct our steps, open doors of miraculous breakthrough, and level every mountain of difficulty before us. May this new month be a time of deep spiritual growth, where we continuously escape worldly corruption and share more deeply in Your divine nature. We pray for all lecturers, teachers, philosophers, speakers, and apologists; through the powerful intercession of Saint Justin (Patron Saint of speakers, lecturers, philosophers, and orators), we ask for an outpouring of divine wisdom upon all those called to teach and defend the truth. Give them the courage to stand uncompromised against modern cultural errors, boldly proclaiming the Gospel with intellectual clarity and charity. Like Saint Justin, help us to never forsake truth for falsehood, and give us a fierce, protective reverence for the mystery of the Holy Eucharist. We pray for the poor, the needy, and the spread of Sacred Scripture; through the prayers of Saint Pamphilus (Priest and Martyr), fire up our hearts with a radical love for Your Word. Grant us the discipline to study and transcribe Your truth onto our hearts daily. We pray for a spirit of profound humility in our families and communities, asking for the grace to treat one another with brotherly affection. Bless our efforts to support the poor and the marginalized, using our everyday resources to offer concrete assistance to those in distress. Guard us safely within the shelter of the Most High throughout this entire month. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏽

THE POPE’S MONTHLY INTENTIONS FOR 2026: FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE:
DEVOTION OF THE MONTH OF JUNE | MONTH OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS: June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a powerful sign of Christ’s love and mercy. His Heart, pierced and crowned with thorns, burns with compassion for all humanity. This devotion calls us to return love for love to console His Heart and make reparation for sin and indifference. Rooted in the revelations to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, the Church invites us this month to deepen our trust in Jesus, especially through First Friday devotions, the Litany of the Sacred Heart, and acts of consecration. His words echo in our hearts: “Learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart” (Matthew 11:29).
The Sacred Heart shows us what true love looks like patient, humble, and self-giving. In a world often cold and restless, we find peace and healing in His Heart.
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in You”
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, teach us to love as You love. Fill our hearts with compassion, mercy, and a deep desire to follow You. Amen 🙏🏽

Thanking God for His love and the gift of this glorious day, we offer Him a prayer of gratitude for the graces of the past months and entrust this month of June to His loving providence. We pray for God’s grace and mercy as we anchor ourselves in the steady, life-giving rhythm of Ordinary Time. May the profound mysteries of the Resurrection, the Ascension, and the fresh fire of the Holy Spirit, which we have so beautifully celebrated, continue to help us seek You in every moment of our lives. May the peace, hope, and divine communion that flow from the Most Holy Trinity shape our steps, inform our decisions, and strengthen our resolve to live each day in the light of Christ and the daily guidance of the Advocate. As we journey onward through the rest of this month, may God bless our families and loved ones, and may His light continue to shine brightly in every home. Let us draw closer to God and be renewed through the joy of the Gospel, the gifts of the Spirit, and generosity to the poor. May God keep us all safe and well during these challenging times.
