Greetings and blessings, beloved family!

Welcome to the month of November! As we step into this new month, our hearts are filled with gratitude for God’s continuous faithfulness, mercy, and guidance. Today, the Church triumphantly opens this new month by celebrating the Solemnity of All Saints. Today’s solemnity turns our eyes toward the triumphant Church in heaven—the vast multitude of holy men and women who lived ordinary lives with extraordinary love. Saint Deborah exemplifies this heroic fidelity, serving God’s people with wisdom, prophetic insight, and bold courage. Today’s Gospel of the Beatitudes presents us with the precise roadmap the saints followed to attain heavenly glory: humility, meekness, purity of heart, peacemaking, and righteousness. As we begin November, let us renew our own call to holiness, trusting that the God who sustained the saints will guide us step by step on our earthly pilgrimage.

Today’s Bible Readings: Solemnity of All Saints | Sunday, November 1, 2026
Reading 1: Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 24:1bc-2, 3-4ab, 5-6
Reading 2: 1 John 3:1-3
Gospel: Matthew 5:1-12a

Gospel Reading ~ Matthew 5:1-12a

“Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God… Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”

“When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying: ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.'”

SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS

Today, on the Solemnity of All Saints, the Church invites us to lift our eyes to the ultimate goal of our faith: eternal life in communion with God alongside the vast, uncountable host of saints. In the Gospel, Jesus ascends the mountain and proclaims the Beatitudes—a revolutionary roadmap for Christian holiness. To a world that values wealth, dominance, and self-assertion, Christ turns human expectations upside down, declaring that true blessedness belongs to the meek, the merciful, the peacemakers, and the pure of heart. Holiness is not reserved for a few extraordinary elite; it is the universal calling for every disciple who embraces the humility and self-giving love of the Beatitudes in their daily walk.

The First Reading from Revelation provides a glorious vision of the triumph awaiting those who persevere in faith. Saint John beholds a great multitude from every nation, race, people, and tongue, standing before the throne wearing white robes washed clean in the Blood of the Lamb. These saints are not flawless superhumans, but ordinary men and women who survived times of great distress and remained faithful. In the Second Reading, Saint John reminds us of our true identity right now: “We are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed.” Rooted in this divine adoption, our longing to see God face-to-face purifies our desires and shapes how we live today. Grounded in this holy expectation, the Responsorial Psalm echoes the path of holiness: “Who can ascend the mountain of the LORD?… One whose hands are sinless, whose heart is clean.”

Today, let us reflect on the mystery of our calling to sainthood. How are you allowing the Beatitudes to shape your daily choices, attitudes, and interactions with others? In what area of your life is God calling you to cultivate greater purity of heart, mercy, or peacemaking so that you may reflect His light more clearly?

Heavenly Father, we thank You for calling us to be Your beloved children and for setting before us the inspiring example of all the saints. Forgive us for the times we seek fulfillment in worldly ambitions rather than the purity and humility of Your Kingdom. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may live out the Beatitudes with joy and steadfast devotion, walking faithfully until we join the heavenly host in giving You eternal praise. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏽

SAINTS OF THE DAY | NOVEMBER 1ST:

SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS: Today, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of All Saints, a Holy Day of Obligation instituted to honor all the holy men and women in heaven—both those who are canonized and the countless unknown souls who have reached eternal glory. Originating in the early Church as a collective commemoration for the vast multitude of Christian martyrs, Pope Gregory III consecrated a chapel in St. Peter’s to all saints on November 1st, establishing the date for the Western Church. Today’s feast reminds us of our universal call to holiness and offers tremendous hope: the saints were ordinary people who faced daily struggles, lived the Beatitudes, and remained steadfast in prayer and trust in God’s mercy.

PRAYER: Almighty, ever-living God, You allow us to honor all Your Saints in one glorious festival. Through the intercession of so many heavenly advocates, grant us an abundance of Your merciful favors and guide our steps on the path to eternal life. Amen. 🙏🏽

SAINT DEBORAH, PROPHETESS: St. Deborah (11th c. B.C.) was a godly widow and saint of the Old Testament. St. Deborah was the Fourth Judge of the Israelites. She was a courageous prophetess and champion of the Israelites. All Israel came to her to judge their disputes, and God prophesied to Israel through her. She was Israel’s only female judge. Her role as the military leader who defended the Israelites is commemorated in the Bible’s “Song of Deborah.” It was her military counter-attack against Sisera at Mount Tabor that successfully delivered Israel’s enemies into their hands. As prophetess, she foretold that Israel would have peace for 40 years following this victory. St. Ambrose and St. Jerome observed that St. Deborah is a good role model for the encouragement of courageous, godly women. She is known as the Patron Saint of bees and beekeepers due to the fact that her name means bee in Hebrew. She is depicted on most medals as looking solemnly down at the cross. Her visions of God led her to live a pious life and to protect Israel itself against harm. St. Deborah’s feast day is November 1st.

THE POPE’S MONTHLY INTENTIONS FOR 2026: FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER: For the proper use of wealth. Let us pray for the proper use of wealth, that not succumbing to the temptation of selfishness, it may always be put at the service of the common good and solidarity of those who have less.

DEVOTION OF THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER | MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS: November is dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory, a month of prayerful remembrance for all the faithful departed who await the joy of Heaven. The Church calls us to intercede for them through our prayers, sacrifices, and Masses, trusting in God’s mercy to purify their souls and welcome them into eternal light. These souls, known as the Church Suffering, are united with the Church Triumphant in Heaven and the Church Militant on earth, one communion of love bound together in Christ.

This devotion is beautifully expressed in the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls’ Day) on November 2, which follows the Solemnity of All Saints on November 1. As the liturgical year draws to a close, the Church invites us to reflect on eternity, on the hope of resurrection and the promise of Heaven. Each prayer offered for the departed becomes an act of mercy that brings comfort to their souls and strengthens our own journey toward holiness.

“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen.” 🙏🏽
