Greetings and blessings, beloved family!
Today, as we celebrate the memorials of Saint Hedwig, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, Saint Gerard Majella, Saint Marguerite d’Youville, and Saint Gall, the Church reflects on a radiant choir of saints who lived in radical trust, profound humility, and untiring charity. From Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, who revealed the boundless love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Saint Gerard Majella, the beloved “Wonder Worker” and protector of mothers, and Saint Hedwig, Saint Marguerite d’Youville, and Saint Gall, who poured out their lives for the poor, the sick, and the lost—these holy men and women embody true holiness. As today’s Gospel reassures us that we are infinitely valuable in God’s eyes and that even the hairs of our head are counted, let us look to these saints and walk fearlessly in the light of divine love today.
🙏🏽 A PRAYER FOR OUR HOLY FATHER, POPE LEO XIV 🙏🏽🤍
For God’s Divine Protection, Healing, and Speedy Recovery
Heavenly Father, Almighty and Eternal God, the Divine Physician and Giver of Life, we humbly come before Your throne of grace, lifting up our beloved Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, in heartfelt prayer.
Lord Jesus Christ, You are the Great Healer. We ask You to surround our Holy Father with Your divine love, mercy, and protection. Guide the hands of his surgeons, grant wisdom and skill to his medical team, and bless every aspect of his treatment and recovery.
Blessed Mother Mary, Health of the Sick and Mother of the Church, wrap our Holy Father in your loving mantle and intercede for him before your Divine Son.
Saint Joseph, Protector of the Universal Church, watch over him. Saints Peter and Paul, pray for him.
Merciful Father, we thank You in faith for hearing our prayers. We pray for a successful procedure, complete healing, freedom from complications, and a peaceful and speedy recovery.
May Your healing grace restore his strength, renew his spirit, and enable him to continue shepherding Your Church with wisdom, courage, humility, and love.
We ask all these blessings through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏽🤍
“Lord, thank You for Your merciful protection over our Holy Father. May Your healing hand remain upon him, granting him renewed strength, complete recovery, and many more fruitful years of faithful service to Your Holy Church. Amen.” 🙏🏽🤍
BIBLE READINGS FOR TODAY’S HOLY MASS:
Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time | USCCB | https://bible.usccb.org/daily-bible-reading
Today’s Bible Readings: Friday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time | Friday, October 16, 2026
Reading 1: Ephesians 1:11-14
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 33:1-2, 4-5, 12-13
Gospel: Luke 12:1-7
Gospel Reading ~ Luke 12:1-7
“Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.”
“At that time: So many people were crowding together that they were trampling one another underfoot. Jesus began to speak, first to his disciples, ‘Beware of the leaven—that is, the hypocrisy—of the Pharisees. There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops. I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body but after that can do no more. I shall show you whom to fear. Be afraid of the one who after killing has the power to cast into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, be afraid of that one. Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God. Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.'”
SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS
Today’s readings offer us a profound sense of comfort, reminding us of our infinite value in God’s eyes while urging us to live transparently and fearlessly in His truth. In the Gospel, as huge crowds gather around Him, Jesus warns His disciples against the “leaven of the Pharisees”—hypocrisy. He cautions that whatever is hidden in darkness will eventually be brought into the light. Yet, Jesus immediately balances this warning with tender reassurance: we must not succumb to the fear of human judgment or earthly threats. Reminding us that not a single sparrow escapes God’s notice and that even the very hairs on our heads are counted, Jesus invites us into radical trust in our Heavenly Father’s intimate love and care.
This reality of our high calling and security in God is beautifully anchored in the First Reading. Saint Paul reminds the Ephesians that in Christ, we were chosen and sealed with the promised Holy Spirit—the pledge of our eternal inheritance as God’s own possession, created to live “for the praise of his glory.” When we recognize that we belong to God, our hearts are freed from anxiety and human approval. As the Responsorial Psalm joyfully declares: “Blessed the people the Lord has chosen to be his own… From heaven the LORD looks down; he sees all mankind.”
Today, let us examine our motives and fears. Are we allowing fear of worldly opinions or hidden hypocrisy to sway us, or are we walking in the quiet confidence of being infinitely loved and chosen by God? How can you live more authentically in the light of God’s truth today, surrendering your anxieties to the One who holds you in His hands?
Heavenly Father, we thank You for choosing us as Your own possession and for sealing us with Your Holy Spirit. Forgive us for the times we have let fear of human judgment control our choices, or allowed hypocrisy to hide in the corners of our hearts. Strip away all deceit, and fill us with the fearless confidence that comes from knowing we are infinitely precious in Your sight. Help us to live openly for the praise of Your glory each day. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏽

DEVOTION OF THE MONTH OF OCTOBER | MONTH OF THE HOLY ROSARY: October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary, a powerful prayer that draws us into the heart of the Gospel through the eyes of Mary. The Rosary is more than repetition, it is a meditation on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, united with the loving presence of His Blessed Mother. As Pope St. John Paul II reminded us, the Rosary is “a compendium of the Gospel,” helping us to contemplate Christ’s face with Mary.
The twenty mysteries of the Rosary, Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous, invite us to journey with Christ from His Incarnation to His Passion and His triumph over death. Each mystery opens us to God’s saving love, strengthens our faith, and leads us to imitate the virtues of Jesus and Mary in our daily lives. This month, the Church invites us to renew our devotion to the Rosary by praying it daily, whether alone, in families, or in community. Through it, we find peace in times of trial, strength against temptation, and deeper trust in God’s providence. Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, intercedes for us and leads us always to her Son.
“O Mary, our Blessed Mother and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, teach us to pray with a pure heart and a steadfast spirit. As we meditate on the mysteries of Christ, help us to grow in faith, hope, and love. Intercede for us before your Son, that our families, our Church, and our world may be filled with peace and the light of the Gospel. Amen.” 🙏🏽
