Today we begin the Novena to Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, lovingly known as the Little Flower. Born in 1873, Thérèse Martin entered the Carmelite convent at the young age of fifteen, where she embraced a hidden life of prayer, sacrifice, and profound love for God. Though her earthly life was short, ending at the age of twenty-four, her simple yet powerful “Little Way” of holiness, doing small things with great love and trusting God in everything, has touched millions of hearts across the world.

Thérèse reminds us that true greatness lies not in extraordinary deeds but in childlike trust and simple acts of love. Declared a Doctor of the Church, she continues to be a guide for all who seek closeness with God in the ordinariness of daily life. As we begin this novena, may her example inspire us to live each day with faith, humility, and complete surrender to God’s will. Her Feast Day is October 1st.

Prayer to Saint Thérèse
Dear Saint Thérèse, you are the Little Flower of Jesus. Pray this day that I may be made well in body, mind, and spirit. Help me to always see, as you so clearly did, that my sufferings and trials are meant to cleanse and purify me so that I may be more worthy to receive God’s unending love. Amen. 🌹🙏🏽
