Greetings and blessings, beloved family!
Today, Friday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time, we joyfully thank God for the gift of life and for leading us into the month of October. May this month bring us God’s blessings, peace, and joy in abundance. We particularly pray for those mourning the loss of a loved one who recently passed away and the eternal repose of the souls in Purgatory. May our Blessed Mother Mary intercede for all those in pain and sorrow and may this month bring peace to troubled hearts, direction to the lost, comfort to the grieving, and strength to the weary. In all things, may His will be done and His name be glorified. Amen🙏🏽
Lord Almighty, we lift our hearts in gratitude for Your unfailing love, protection, and mercy that carried us through the past month. We entrust every day into Your hands, asking for Your blessings, guidance, and peace in our lives and families. May October be for us a season of renewed faith, deeper hope, and overflowing joy. We pray especially for all families, for children, parents, and teachers, that they may be strengthened and protected. Bless those who will celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, new opportunities, and milestones this month, and comfort those who enter October with heavy hearts or struggles. Lord, go before us, walk beside us, and remain with us always, now and forever. Amen🙏🏽
Today, we humbly pray for the poor, abandoned, and those in need, for all those who are marginalized in our society. For those who are imprisoned, especially those who are unjustly imprisoned. We pray for charitable organizations, asking God’s blessing upon their mission and we lift our prayers for peace, love, justice and unity in our families, marriages and our world. May God protect us all and keep us safe and united in peace, love and faith. Amen 🙏🏽
Through the intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary on this special Feast day, we lift our prayers for the protection, safety and well-being of missionaries, pilots, and all travelers. We ask for healing for the sick and dying, especially those who are suffering from cancers and other terminal diseases, strength for the weary, peace in troubled homes, and provision for all in need. Guide our steps in righteousness, protect us from harm, and fill our hearts with faith, joy, and gratitude. May this month draw us closer to Your will, and may every day be a testimony of Your goodness and mercy in our lives. We begin this month with trust in Your unfailing love, Lord, and we surrender all that lies ahead into Your hands. Amen 🙏🏾
We continue to pray for the Church, the Clergy, our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, the Cardinals, Bishops, all Priests, that they be sanctified in their ministry to God’s people. We pray for persecuted Christians, for the conversion of sinners, and Christians all over the world suffering from political and religious unrest.
Through the intercession of St. Joseph, we pray for all fathers, mothers, workers, and all those who labor in this world. May the Lord bless the work of their hands, and may God’s grace and mercy be with us all during this season of Ordinary Time. Wishing us all and our loved ones a joyful, peaceful, and grace-filled month of October. 🙏🏽
We remember in prayer all who began this journey of life with us but are no longer here. We pray for the gentle repose of the souls of our loved ones who recently passed away, and we continue to pray for the souls in Purgatory; lost souls. For the repose of the souls of all the faithful departed, may the Lord receive them into the light of Eternal Kingdom.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” ~ Matthew 5:4
PRAYER FOR THE DEAD: In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life, you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil, and bid them eternal rest. The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen🙏🏽
“Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His Saints.” ~ Psalm 116:15
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon them. May their gentle souls through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace with our Lord Jesus Christ… Amen 🙏🏽 ✝️🕯✝️🕯✝️🕯
KIND REMINDER: JUBILEE YEAR OF HOPE 2025 HOLY DOOR SCHEDULE TIMELINES | https://dailyreflectionswithphilomena.com/jubilee-of-hope-2025/
The Jubilee began with the opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024, and will conclude with the closing of the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica on January 6, 2026. The Holy Doors at the other major basilicas (St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls) will be closed on Sunday, 28 December 2025
Important notes
The holy doors at the major basilicas in Rome opened on December 24, 2024, and will remain open until the end of the Jubilee Year on January 6, 2026.
Participating in a pilgrimage to a designated holy door can earn a plenary indulgence.
Individuals who cannot travel to Rome can participate in the Jubilee by making a pilgrimage to a local designated site.
Local Pilgrimage Sites
For a complete list of local pilgrimage sites, check with your local diocese.
For those in the US, you can find a list of designated pilgrimage sites for all the Dioceses on their websites. For instance, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, the Diocese of Fort Worth, Diocese of Dallas, the Archdiocese of Seattle etc all listed their local pilgrimage sites on their websites.
For example, the Diocese of Fort Worth has assigned the following Parishes as pilgrimage churches with holy doors.
- St. Patrick Cathedral,
 - Immaculate Conception of Mary Parish,
 - Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish,
 - St. Philip the Apostle Parish,
 - Sacred Heart Parish

Plenary Indulgence
In his proclamation of the Jubilee of 2025, Pope Francis announced an indulgence would be available to the faithful during the jubilee year. The indulgence, he explained, would be “a way of discovering the unlimited nature of God’s mercy.”
A plenary indulgence is a grace granted by the Catholic Church through the merits of Jesus Christ to remove the temporal punishment due to sin.
“May the Jubilee be a moment of genuine, personal encounter with the Lord Jesus, the ‘door’ (cf. Jn 10:7.9) of our salvation.” ~ Pope Francis

Most holy Apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of difficult cases, of things almost despaired of, Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Intercede with God for me that He bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings, particularly – (make your request here) – and that I may praise God with you and all the saints forever. I promise, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor granted me by God and to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.
Amen 🙏🏽
PRAYER: May the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus be adored, and loved in all the tabernacles until the end of time. Amen 🙏🏽
May the most Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised and glorified now and forever. Amen 🙏🏽
St. Jude pray for us and hear our prayers. Amen 🙏🏽
Blessed be the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Blessed be the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Blessed be St. Jude Thaddeus, in all the world and for all Eternity. (say this prayer, followed by the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be)
Dear Apostle and Martyr for Christ, you left us an Epistle in the New Testament. With good reason many invoke you when illness is at a desperate stage. We now recommend to your kindness (name of patient) who is in a critical condition. May the cure of this patient increase his/her faith and love for the Lord of Life, for the glory of our merciful God. Amen 🙏🏽

Today’s Bible Readings: Friday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time | October 24, 2025
Reading 1: Romans 7:18–25a
Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 119:66, 68, 76, 77, 93, 94
Gospel: Luke 12:54–59
Gospel Reading ~ Luke 12:54–59
“Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?”
“Jesus said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say immediately that it is going to rain and so it does; and when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south you say that it is going to be hot and so it is. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; why do you not know how to interpret the present time? Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? If you are to go with your opponent before a magistrate, make an effort to settle the matter on the way; otherwise your opponent will turn you over to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the constable, and the constable throw you into prison. I say to you, you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”
In today’s Gospel, Jesus rebukes the crowds for their spiritual blindness. They were able to read signs of the weather yet failed to discern the signs of God’s presence and action in their midst. Christ calls them, and us, to spiritual awareness and discernment. The “present time” He refers to is the moment of grace and conversion that stands before us each day. It is the time when God’s mercy is near, inviting repentance and renewal. Yet many, distracted by worldly concerns, fail to perceive it. Jesus’ invitation is urgent: to reconcile with God while there is still time, to make peace with others, and to turn from sin before we stand before the divine Judge. His words remind us that delay in conversion is a dangerous comfort. Just as one settles matters before reaching court, we are called to settle our hearts with God now, not later. The message is one of mercy, an urgent mercy that seeks our return before justice demands what mercy would freely forgive.
The Lord challenges us to look beyond outward signs to the deeper movements of grace within. Spiritual discernment is not about predicting events but perceiving God’s will in the moment. Christ’s rebuke is not harshness but a plea for awakening, to see with the eyes of faith and not miss the hour of salvation. Each day brings opportunities to act justly, forgive, and renew our relationship with God. But procrastination and indifference are spiritual prisons that keep us bound. “Make peace with your opponent,” Jesus says, and in doing so, He calls us to reconciliation, with God, with others, and with ourselves. Before the final judgment, mercy walks beside us; but if we ignore it, justice will complete what mercy invited us to change. The time for reconciliation is now. The present moment is sacred because it carries the possibility of conversion.
Reflecting on the First Reading, in his letter to the Romans, St. Paul unveils the inner struggle of the human heart, a tension between the desire to do good and the pull of sin. “I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do.” His words capture the universal experience of weakness and conflict within. Yet, St. Paul does not end in despair. He recognizes that deliverance comes only through Jesus Christ. The law of sin enslaves, but the grace of Christ liberates. It is in acknowledging our helplessness that we open ourselves to divine strength. The apostle’s cry, “Who will deliver me from this mortal body?” finds its triumphant answer in Christ the Redeemer, who transforms our struggle into sanctification. This reading reminds us that the Christian life is not a denial of weakness but a surrender of it to the One who makes us whole. Grace does not erase struggle but empowers perseverance.
Reflecting on the Responsorial Psalm, the refrain, “Lord, teach me your statutes,” expresses the humble prayer of a soul longing for guidance and purity. The Psalmist delights in God’s law, not as a burden but as a path to life and wisdom. “You are good and bountiful; teach me your statutes.” To follow God’s commandments is to discover the secret of true freedom. In contrast to the restless confusion of sin described by St. Paul, the Psalm offers calm assurance, the peace that comes from walking in God’s ways. When we allow His word to shape our conscience, we begin to see rightly, judge rightly, and live rightly. The law of God is not merely a rulebook but a reflection of His love, a compass pointing us toward peace, integrity, and eternal joy.
As we reflect and meditate on the words of the Sacred Scriptures today, let us examine our hearts. Do I recognize the signs of God’s presence in my life, or am I too distracted by the noise of the world? Have I made peace with those I have wronged, or do I still carry grudges that imprison my heart? When I struggle between good and evil, do I rely on Christ’s strength, or do I try to overcome sin by my own effort? Do I seek to understand God’s statutes with love, or do I resist His correction? The Lord calls us today to spiritual awareness, to see with faith, to act with mercy, and to live with readiness. The time of grace is now. The opportunity to be reconciled is now. Let us not wait for the “judge” when the Redeemer still walks beside us, offering peace. May God in His infinite grace and mercy, grant us His grace as we remain steadfast in faith and continue to serve Him in spirit and in truth. 🙏🏽
Lord Jesus, open my eyes to recognize the signs of Your presence in my daily life. Free me from the blindness of indifference and the weight of unrepented sin. When I struggle with weakness, teach me to rely on Your grace. When I am tempted to delay conversion, stir my heart to act now in love and humility. Help me to make peace where there is division, to forgive where there is hurt, and to walk faithfully in Your truth. May Your word be the lamp that guides my steps and the wisdom that shapes my choices. Strengthen me, Lord, to live each moment aware of Your mercy and ready to meet You with a heart renewed in grace. Amen. 🙏🏽
MEMORIAL OF SAINT ANTHONY MARY CLARET, BISHOP; AND SAINT MAGLOIRE, ABBOT – FEAST DAY: OCTOBER 24TH: Today, the Church honors Saint Anthony Mary Claret, Bishop (Patron of Catholic Press, Claretians, Weavers, and Foundations) and Saint Magloire, Abbot (Patron of the Island of Sark and Defender of Monastic Life), two great witnesses of faith whose lives proclaimed the Gospel through word, work, and holiness. On this blessed day, we pray for all missionaries, evangelizers, educators, and shepherds of souls who labor tirelessly for the salvation of others. We remember those dedicated to Catholic media, truth, and education, and all who seek to build faith communities rooted in prayer, learning, and charity. Through the intercession of these saints, may we embrace our own call to evangelize with courage and humility. Amen. 🙏🏾

SAINT ANTHONY MARY CLARET, BISHOP (1807–1870): Saint Anthony Mary Claret, founder of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (the Claretians), was born in 1807 in Sallent, Spain, during a time of great political upheaval. The fifth of eleven children, he learned the trade of weaving from his father before discerning his call to the priesthood. Ordained in 1835, he devoted himself to preaching parish missions and retreats throughout Catalonia, where his gentle zeal and burning love for souls brought countless hearts back to God. To extend his missionary outreach, he founded the Claretians in 1849—a congregation dedicated to evangelization, education, and spreading devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. That same year, he was appointed Archbishop of Santiago de Cuba, where he reformed clergy and laity alike, founded schools and seminaries, and established the Teaching Sisters of Mary Immaculate. His pastoral work transformed a spiritually desolate diocese into a flourishing center of faith and charity.
After returning to Spain, he served as confessor to Queen Isabella II, continuing his mission through preaching and publishing. Saint Anthony was a prolific writer and advocate of Catholic literature—establishing libraries, schools, and printing houses. He spread devotion to the Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary with tireless enthusiasm. Though persecuted and exiled during political turmoil, he remained steadfast in faith. He participated in the First Vatican Council before dying in exile in 1870. Endowed with the gifts of prophecy and miracles, Saint Anthony Mary Claret was canonized in 1950. His shining face at Mass symbolized a soul wholly aflame with divine love.
PRAYER: Almighty God, You filled Saint Anthony Mary Claret with burning zeal for the salvation of souls. Through his intercession, ignite our hearts with missionary fervor and help us to labor joyfully for the glory of Your name and the good of others. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏾
SAINT MAGLOIRE, ABBOT (6TH CENTURY): Saint Magloire was born into nobility in the early 500s—his mother a Welsh princess and his father a Breton nobleman. From the age of five, he studied under Saint Illtud at the famous monastery of Llantwit Major, where he grew in wisdom and virtue. After ordination, he became Abbot of a monastery at Lammeur in Brittany, guiding his monks for more than fifty years with gentleness, prayer, and holiness. He succeeded his cousin Saint Samson of Dol as bishop, serving his flock with humility before resigning the episcopate to live a life of deeper contemplation. Following a vision from an angel, he retired to the island of Sark, where he founded a community of sixty-two monks dedicated to prayer and labor. Miracles marked his life and continued after his death around the year 575. Through his witness, Christianity took deep root in the Channel Islands, and he became venerated as the Patron Saint of Sark.
PRAYER: O God, who called Saint Magloire to a life of holiness and quiet service, grant that through his prayers we may find peace in humble obedience to Your will. May we learn, like him, to balance prayer and work in our journey toward Heaven. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏾

DEVOTION OF THE MONTH OF OCTOBER | MONTH OF THE HOLY ROSARY: October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary, a powerful prayer that draws us into the heart of the Gospel through the eyes of Mary. The Rosary is more than repetition. It is a meditation on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, united with the loving presence of His Blessed Mother. As Pope St. John Paul II reminded us, the Rosary is “a compendium of the Gospel,” helping us to contemplate Christ’s face with Mary.
The twenty mysteries of the Rosary, Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous, invite us to journey with Christ from His Incarnation to His Passion and His triumph over death. Each mystery opens us to God’s saving love, strengthens our faith, and leads us to imitate the virtues of Jesus and Mary in our daily lives. This month, the Church invites us to renew our devotion to the Rosary by praying it daily, whether alone, in families, or in community. Through it, we find peace in times of trial, strength against temptation, and deeper trust in God’s providence. Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, intercedes for us and leads us always to her Son.
“O Mary, our Blessed Mother and Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, teach us to pray with a pure heart and a steadfast spirit. As we meditate on the mysteries of Christ, help us to grow in faith, hope, and love. Intercede for us before your Son, that our families, our Church, and our world may be filled with peace and the light of the Gospel. Amen.” 🙏🏽

PRAYER INTENTIONS: Today, as we reflect on the call to discern the signs of the times and to live in the light of God’s truth, we pray for hearts purified of selfishness and renewed in grace. May the Spirit who strengthened Saint Paul in his struggle between good and evil also strengthen us to overcome our weaknesses and seek the freedom that comes from Christ alone. Through the intercession of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, may all evangelizers, priests, and missionaries be filled with zeal to proclaim God’s Word with courage and compassion. Through Saint Magloire, may contemplatives, educators, and all who serve in humble obedience find joy in faithful service and perseverance in holiness. We pray for peace in our hearts and homes, for healing where division reigns, and for the courage to act justly and forgive generously. May the Church continue to shine as a light of truth and mercy in a world longing for reconciliation and renewal.
LET US PRAY:
My most merciful Judge, You desire that I listen to Your holy Word, revealed through Scripture, so as to receive Your most merciful conviction of my sin. I pray that I will be open to always hear all that You desire to say to me so that I can respond with generosity and trust, reconciling with You and others continually through my journey in life. Enliven my conscience with Your holy Word, dear Lord. Jesus, I trust in You. Amen 🙏🏽
O God, You search the depths of our hearts and know our every struggle. Grant us the wisdom to recognize Your presence in our daily lives and the courage to respond with love. Through the example of Saint Anthony Mary Claret, may we labor tirelessly for the Gospel, and through Saint Magloire’s quiet faith, may we learn to serve You with humility and peace. Free us from the bondage of sin and fill us with the grace of discernment, that we may walk always in Your truth. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. 🙏🏾
Save Us, Savior of the World. Our Blessed, Saint Anthony Mary Claret, and Saint Magloire ~ Pray for us 🙏🏾
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you. Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for us. Amen 🙏🏽
Thanking God for the precious gift of this new day, and during this gentle rhythm of Ordinary Time, may our hearts remain open to the quiet working of the Holy Spirit who continues to guide, renew, and strengthen us each day. As we begin this new month of October, we lift our hearts in gratitude for the blessings of the past and entrust the days ahead into God’s loving hands. May this month be filled with hope, safety, and the quiet joy that comes from knowing that Christ walks with us always. Alleluia! Have a blessed, safe, grace-filled and fruitful Friday, and a relaxing weekend, and a fulfilling month of October.🙏🏽
