πΊπΈ A BRIEF HISTORY OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001πΊπΈ
On the morning of September 11, 2001, the United States experienced the deadliest terrorist attack in its history. Nineteen terrorists from al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial airplanes. Two were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, causing both towers to collapse. A third struck the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, while the fourth, United Airlines Flight 93, crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew courageously attempted to regain control of the aircraft.
Nearly 3,000 people from more than 90 countries were killed, including hundreds of firefighters, police officers, and other emergency personnel who responded courageously to help others. Thousands more were injured, and many survivors and first responders later experienced serious illnesses associated with exposure at the attack sites.
September 11 profoundly changed the United States and the world. Yet amid unimaginable tragedy came extraordinary examples of courage, sacrifice, compassion, faith, and unity as first responders, clergy, medical professionals, volunteers, and ordinary citizens came together to serve one another.
Today, we remember those who died, honor those who sacrificed and served, and continue to pray for their families, survivors, and all who still carry the wounds of that day.
We remember. We honor. We pray. We will never forget. πΊπΈπ―οΈππ½

Heavenly Father, on this solemn anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember all those whose lives were lost and all whose lives were forever changed by the tragic events of that day.
We commend into Your loving and merciful hands the souls of all who died. Grant them eternal rest, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen. ποΈβοΈ
We remember with profound gratitude the firefighters, police officers, emergency responders, military personnel, medical professionals, clergy, and ordinary citizens who courageously ran toward danger to save and comfort others. Bless all who continue to serve and protect our communities and our nation.
Lord, comfort the families who still carry the pain of losing their loved ones. Heal those who continue to bear physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds from that day, and strengthen all who live with its lasting effects.
As we remember September 11, renew within us a spirit of faith, compassion, unity, courage, and peace. Protect our nation and all nations from violence, hatred, terrorism, and war. Teach us to recognize one another as brothers and sisters and to become instruments of Your peace in our homes, communities, and throughout the world.
Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
May God bless and protect the United States of America and grant peace to our troubled world. Amen. ππ½πΊπΈποΈβ€οΈ
