Event: Solemnity of All Saints (Holy Day of Obligation)
Join us on November 1st for the Solemnity of All Saints, a Holy Day of Obligation, as we come together to honor and celebrate all the saints—known and unknown—who now enjoy eternal life with God in heaven. This feast reminds us of the universal call to holiness and the shared destiny of all Christians to be saints.
The Solemnity of All Saints highlights the example set by those who have gone before us, offering us models of faith, love, and perseverance. The Church invites us to reflect on the lives of the canonized saints and the countless others who lived holy lives, even if their names are not known to us. This day also calls us to imitate their virtues and remain steadfast in our own spiritual journey.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: As a Holy Day of Obligation, all faithful are encouraged to attend Mass to honor the saints and participate in the Eucharist. The Mass readings will reflect the heavenly glory of the saints and the call for each of us to follow in their footsteps.
- Litany of the Saints: During the liturgy, a Litany of the Saints may be prayed, invoking the intercession of the saints as we ask for their guidance and prayers on our path to holiness.
- Prayer for the Communion of Saints: Special prayers will be offered in gratitude for the communion of saints, and we will ask for their intercession as we strive to live lives of virtue and holiness.
Let us gather in joyful celebration of All Saints, giving thanks for the men and women whose lives have shown us the way to Christ, and renew our own commitment to living out the Gospel. All are invited to participate in this holy celebration!
