Second Sunday of Lent

March 16, 2025
00:00 - 23:59

The Second Sunday of Lent invites us to reflect on the Transfiguration of Jesus—a moment of divine revelation that strengthens our faith and prepares us for the journey ahead. In the Gospel reading (Matthew 17:1-9, Mark 9:2-10, or Luke 9:28-36), Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a high mountain, where He is transfigured before them, His face shining like the sun and His clothes dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appear beside Him, representing the Law and the Prophets, while the Father’s voice proclaims, “This is my beloved Son; listen to Him.”

This vision of Christ’s divine glory serves as a foretaste of the Resurrection and a source of encouragement for the disciples—and for us—on our Lenten journey. It reminds us that suffering and sacrifice lead to eternal glory.

Event Highlights:

  • Holy Mass & Reflection on the Transfiguration: A homily will explore the meaning of Jesus’ revelation and its impact on our faith.
  • Call to Deepen Our Faith Journey: Encouragement to spend more time in prayer and reflection, drawing closer to Christ.
  • Encouragement for Spiritual Transformation: Like Jesus’ Transfiguration, we are called to be transformed through grace, repentance, and renewal.
  • Strength for the Lenten Journey: The Transfiguration reminds us that moments of spiritual clarity and God’s presence strengthen us in times of trial.

As we continue through Lent, let us open our hearts to the light of Christ, allowing His grace to transform us and prepare us for the joy of Easter.

All are welcome to join in this special celebration of faith and renewal.
