Event: Feast of St. Teresa of Avila
Join us on October 15th as we celebrate the Feast of St. Teresa of Avila, a Doctor of the Church and one of the most influential mystics and spiritual teachers in the history of Catholicism. St. Teresa, a Carmelite nun and reformer, is known for her profound writings on prayer and the spiritual life, including her famous works, “The Interior Castle” and “The Way of Perfection.”
St. Teresa’s deep love for God and her commitment to a life of prayer and contemplation led to the reform of the Carmelite Order. She emphasized the importance of an intimate relationship with God through prayer, encouraging believers to seek deeper union with Him, even amidst life’s trials.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: A special Mass will be offered in honor of St. Teresa, reflecting on her teachings and her role as a spiritual guide. The homily will focus on themes of contemplation, prayer, and trust in God’s will.
- Reflection on St. Teresa’s Spirituality: After Mass, a short reflection will be offered on the spiritual legacy of St. Teresa and how her teachings can be applied in our daily lives, encouraging us to grow in our relationship with God.
- Special Prayer for Inner Peace and Guidance: In the spirit of St. Teresa’s dedication to prayer, we will offer special prayers for peace, guidance, and a deeper understanding of God’s presence in our lives.
Let us come together in prayer and reflection as we honor the life and wisdom of St. Teresa of Avila, and seek to follow her example of deep trust and devotion to the Lord. All are welcome to participate in this sacred celebration!
