Event: World Mission Day
Join us on October 20th as we observe World Mission Day, a day dedicated to fostering a spirit of missionary outreach and awareness within the Catholic Church. Established by Pope Pius XI in 1926, World Mission Day reminds us of the universal call to spread the Gospel and share Christ’s love with all nations.
This year’s theme focuses on the importance of being active participants in the mission of the Church, emphasizing that every baptized person is called to be a missionary disciple. The day serves as a powerful reminder of our responsibility to pray for, support, and engage with the global mission of the Church, particularly in areas where the faith is still developing.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: A special Mass will be celebrated, highlighting the missionary aspect of the Church and the call to evangelization. The homily will encourage attendees to embrace their role in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
- Guest Speaker: A missionary or representative from a mission organization will share insights about their work, the challenges they face, and the profound impact of mission efforts around the world.
- Mission Awareness Activities: There will be opportunities for parishioners to learn about various mission projects, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support missionaries through prayer and financial contributions.
As we celebrate World Mission Day, let us renew our commitment to being active witnesses of Christ’s love and compassion. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who have yet to hear the Gospel. All are welcome to participate in this meaningful observance!
