Event: Fourth Sunday of Advent
Theme: The Promise Fulfilled
Join us on December 22nd as we celebrate the Fourth Sunday of Advent, the final step in our journey of preparation for the coming of Christ. This Sunday emphasizes the fulfillment of God’s promise to send a Savior, with a special focus on the role of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the mystery of the Incarnation.
With the lighting of the final candle on the Advent wreath, symbolizing love, we are reminded of God’s boundless love for humanity, manifested in the gift of His Son. The readings and prayers invite us to reflect on Mary’s “yes” to God and how we, too, can open our hearts to welcome Christ.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: The liturgy will center on the Gospel of the Annunciation, where the angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she will bear the Son of God (Luke 1:26-38). The homily will explore the themes of faith, obedience, and trust in God’s plan.
- Lighting of the Advent Wreath: During Mass, the fourth candle of the Advent wreath will be lit, marking the final stage of our preparation and reflecting the love that surrounds the birth of Christ.
- Reflection on Mary’s Fiat: A special reflection will focus on Mary’s response to God’s call and how her example inspires us to trust and say “yes” to God’s will in our lives.
As we gather on this Fourth Sunday of Advent, let us prepare our hearts to receive the Lord with the same openness and trust as Mary. All are welcome to join in this sacred time of prayer, reflection, and anticipation.
