Event: Feast of St. Andrew
Join us on November 30th as we celebrate the Feast of St. Andrew, one of the Apostles of Jesus and the patron saint of Scotland, Russia, and fishermen. St. Andrew, the brother of St. Peter, was one of the first disciples to follow Christ and is known for bringing others to Jesus, including his own brother. His zeal for spreading the Gospel led him to become a missionary and martyr, faithfully witnessing to Christ even unto death.
The Feast of St. Andrew marks the beginning of the liturgical year as it often falls near the start of Advent, reminding us of the call to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. St. Andrew’s example of evangelization, courage, and faithfulness encourages us to share our faith with others and live lives of true discipleship.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: A special Mass will be offered in honor of St. Andrew, with readings that reflect his call to follow Christ and his role as a missionary. The homily will focus on the importance of evangelization and living out our faith in daily life, inspired by St. Andrew’s example.
- Reflection on St. Andrew’s Mission: A brief reflection will be given on how St. Andrew’s life encourages us to bring others to Christ, both through our words and actions, and how we can be courageous witnesses in our communities.
- Prayer for Missionaries: As St. Andrew was a great missionary, we will offer special prayers for all those who continue his work in spreading the Gospel today, especially those who face persecution and hardship in their mission.
Let us come together to honor St. Andrew, a humble yet powerful witness to the love of Christ, and seek his intercession as we continue to grow in faith and share the Good News with the world. All are welcome to participate in this feast day celebration!
