Event: Peace Sunday
Date: January 19th
Join us on January 19th as we mark Peace Sunday, a day dedicated to praying for peace in our hearts, our communities, and our world. Inspired by the teachings of Christ, the Prince of Peace, this day calls us to reflect on our role as peacemakers and to work toward justice and reconciliation in all aspects of life.
Peace Sunday coincides with the Church’s commitment to promoting the message of peace as expressed in the annual Papal Message for the World Day of Peace. It is an invitation to unite in prayer and action, seeking ways to bring healing and harmony to a divided world.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: The liturgy will emphasize Christ’s message of peace and the Christian vocation to be peacemakers. The homily will reflect on how we can embody peace in our daily lives and relationships.
- Special Prayers for Peace: Prayers will be offered for those affected by conflict, injustice, and division, as well as for leaders and policymakers striving for peaceful resolutions.
- Reflection on Justice and Reconciliation: A brief reflection will explore the connection between peace, justice, and the call to forgiveness and unity.
- Opportunities for Action: Resources and suggestions will be provided for participating in peace-building efforts, such as supporting charitable initiatives, promoting dialogue, or advocating for social justice.
Let us come together on Peace Sunday to renew our commitment to Christ’s call to be instruments of peace, both in our personal lives and in the broader world. All are welcome to participate in this meaningful celebration.
