Event: Youth Sunday & Solemnity of Christ the King
Join us on November 24th for the Solemnity of Christ the King, a major feast in the liturgical year that celebrates the sovereignty of Jesus Christ over all creation. On this day, we proclaim Christ as King of the Universe, reflecting on His reign of love, peace, and justice. This year, we also observe Youth Sunday, a special opportunity to recognize the gifts, energy, and contributions of young people in the life of the Church.
The Solemnity of Christ the King, instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925, serves as a powerful reminder that Christ’s kingdom is not of this world but rooted in service, humility, and love. As we mark Youth Sunday, we celebrate the role of young people in building this kingdom through their vibrant faith and commitment to living the Gospel in their daily lives.
Event Highlights:
- Holy Mass: The liturgy will honor Christ as our King and Savior, with special prayers and readings reflecting on His kingship and our call to be faithful members of His kingdom. The Mass will also include a special focus on the youth of the parish, recognizing their unique role in the Church.
- Youth Involvement: Young people will take an active part in the Mass, serving as lectors, altar servers, and choir members, as well as participating in a procession dedicated to Christ the King.
- Reflection on Youth and the Kingdom of God: After Mass, there will be a reflection on how young people contribute to the life of the Church and how their energy and faith are essential to the Church’s mission of spreading the Gospel and building a world rooted in Christ’s values.
- Youth Prayer and Blessing: The celebration will conclude with a special blessing for all youth, encouraging them to continue growing in faith and love, while actively participating in Christ’s mission to bring His kingdom to the world.
Let us gather to celebrate both Christ the King and the Youth of our Church, as we reflect on the joy of living under Christ’s reign and the bright future of the Church through its young members. All are welcome to join in this vibrant and meaningful celebration!
